Nokia has announced recently that it has purchased Novarra, Inc., a mobile browser development firm based in Chicago employing 100 people. Apparently, Nokia plans to launch Novarra’s browser with the intention to deliver enhanced Internet experiences on its Series 40 devices later this year.
The Finnish company says that a new service offering using technology from Novarra will be available later in 2010 and will become a Nokia subsidiary after the acquisition is close, probably sometime in the second quarter of the year.
